Google blockchain indexing

Google Blockchain Indexing

Google blockchain indexing has significantly broadened its search engine capabilities by incorporating blockchain data from Bitcoin and various Ethereum virtual machine (EVM) networks, including Fantom. This enhancement allows users to access specific transaction details directly through Google’s search engine ‘rich’ results.
Blockchain Data Now Indexed

Previously, Google introduced this feature for Ethereum, enabling users to search public addresses and view wallet balances directly in the search results. Recently, they extended this functionality to include Ethereum Name Service, displaying detailed address information such as balances and the latest transaction timestamps.

This expanded indexing now supports Bitcoin addresses and other EVM-compatible chains, including Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, and Polygon. Despite its advanced capabilities, some users have reported inconsistencies in search result visibility.

Social Media Insights

Screenshots trending on social media have highlighted that Google blockchain indexing currently supports three Bitcoin address formats: P2PKH, P2SH, and Bech32. However, it appears that this feature is not yet universally available, as some users on X (formerly Twitter) mentioned the absence of these results in their searches.

Fantom’s Integration and Growth

Nick SR, the head of growth at Fantom Foundation, confirmed that Google is quietly indexing Fantom’s blockchain data. This support aligns with Fantom’s ongoing efforts to enhance its network through innovative technologies like Sonic. Fantom’s CEO, Michael Kong, described Sonic as a revolutionary sequencer for L1 and L2 chains, capable of processing over 180 million daily transactions with sub-second confirmation times. This initiative aims to reposition Fantom as a community-centric brand.

Market Response

In light of these advancements, Fantom’s FTM token has seen a remarkable increase of over 110% in the past month, outperforming other major layer-1 blockchains, including Solana.
